“Ramblings” – A Review of “Culture Shift” by A. Mohler Jr.
I was so impressed by Dr. Mohler’s book “He Is Not Silent”, I was beyond thrilled to get a chance to read and review another one of his books. This time it was “Culture Shift”, and it did not dissappoint. This book read more like a series of essays as opposed to one long narrative, although the Gospel thread (and the need for the Gospel) was woven into each chapter.
Dr. Mohler’s ability to bring complex situations under the microscope of the Word of God is inspiring. There are not always clear answers, but Dr. Mohler never waivers on the fact that all issues fall under the sovereignty and Word of God. Many of the issues he addresses come to mind immediately when talking about modern day issues Christians face – yet some do not. Dr. Mohler gives each issue a thorough diagnosis, presenting not only what God’s word says about each, but also including thoughts from the leading “experts” in each field or topic.
One thing is clear by the time you finish the book, Dr. Albert Mohler Jr is clearly a great mind and does an honor to God by applying it to the complex social and spiritual issues of our day! I would (and already have) recommended this book to many of my friends – both in ministry and outside the ministry. I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.
